Creating Connections Mentoring Program

The Creating Connections program is a community-based mentoring program with the goal of matching youth in the community with caring and responsible adults. Our program seeks to match school aged youth, grades K-12, with adult mentors to develop positive relationships that can foster healthy lifestyle choices. Creating Connections works in all Burlington communities, with a focus on serving underprivileged and refugee/immigrant populations. Mentors are matched with youth based on similar interests and activities of the pair, such as exlporing the community, attending an event, baking cookies, drawing comics or just hanging out. Once matched mentors have a weekly 2-4 hour commitment to spend with their mentee for one full calendar year. This program aims to have mentor-mentee pair share experiences that can positively shape the development of the youth. An orientation training, on-going support and activities are provided.
